North West Canada Medal, 1885, clasp SAS­KATCHEWAN, engraved in upright capitals (STAFF. SERGT. A.B. MACKAY N.W.M.P.), roll indicates entitlement to medal without clasp.  Alexander Bryan Mackay was born in 1855. He enlisted with the North West Mounted Police at Fort Walsh  in 1879 and then served in Battleford.  He was discharged in Battleford 1886, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Mackay died in 1888 at the age of 31.

Provenance: Sold at Jeffrey Hoare auctions April 1995 auction.
