Thomas Barry was born in Tipperary, Limerick Ireland 15 August, 1864. He engaged the North West Mounted Police at Halifax 1885/06/06. He was immediately sent to Regina with the designation of “veterinary.” Barry was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 1888 but then reduced in rank to Corporal due to a disciplinary infraction. Barry served at Prince Albert during the Rebellion, with service as a veterinary surgeon. He received a North West Canada medal without clasp. Thomas Barry joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1918 and served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps. His attestation paper lists his 10 years of service with the R.N.W.M.P. Barry died in Calgary on 24 April, 1947.
