Memorial Plaque/ Death Penny to “James Ferris”. Alias Norman Jannings. James Ferris (alias) (100434) enlisted with the 66th Battalion in Edmonton. His true family name was Norman Jannings. He was born in London England on 17 April, 1885. He listed his sister at Church End Finchlay London as his next-of-kin. He was KILLED IN ACTION at the age of 39 years on the 15 September 1916 while serving with the 49th Battalion (Edmonton). He is remembered with honour at the Courcelette British Cemetery.
