An extraordinary WW2 R.C.A.F. grouping to P/O J. Wright who was KILLED IN ACTION July 8, 1944 at the age of 19! Extensive documents and letters including one from Mrs. Massey (Governor General). WW2 medals, Memorial Cross; Birks Memorial Bar, Wings, Ring and more.< Including a 1939/45 Star; France and Germany Star; Defence medal; CVSM and Bar; War medal. With George VI Memorial Cross reverse engraved to "P.O. J. Wright, J.89895" Birks Memorial Bar to "P/O J. Wright, R.C.A.F. -Died in His Country's Service 8 July, 1944". With two wings, a ring and a pin. Also a photo of Wright reproduced from the Veterans Affairs Canada Website with the caption "Off to war, never to return." Extensive documentation including a letter from then Governor General Vincent Massey's wife. A copy of a letter from Wright to his parents 23rd July, 1944. CWGC letter listing Wright as a casuatly, son of Albert and Marion Wright of Toronto. Letter from Air Marshal, Chief of the Air Staff Robert Leckie. Brochures and booklets. Imperial War Graves Commission letter. Correspondence from Mrs. S. Mitchell (Australia) who also lost her son on the same mission as Wright writing to his parents. Also a handkerchief with a number stamped in it. "They Shall Grow Not Old" given the following Death details for Wright, James P/O (AG) J89895/R212530. From Toronto, Ontario. Killed in Action Jul 8/44, age 19 #9 Squadron (Per Noctem Volamus) Lancaster aircraft #JB116 went down 19 miles east of Dieppe France during night operations, a raid against St. Leu D'Esserent, France. F/O G.T. Baseden (RAF), Sgt. I. Feldman (RAF), and F.S. J.L. Wright (RAF) were also killed. Three others of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Pilot Officer Air Gunner Wright is buried in the Millebosc Communal Cemetery, Seine Maritime, France. /font>
