Military Medal (George V) uncrowned head impressed "111472 SJT W.A. STEVENSON, 5/CAN:M. RIF". With a copy of his service record. M.M. London Gazette 11 May, 1917. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the whole of the Battalion's 16 months in France. In the Somme previous to the engagement of 15th September and 1st October 1916, he made daring reconnaissances in "No Man's Land" and also entered the enemy's front line obtaining valuable information. His work at all times has been marked by a consistency and he has always volunteered for any hazardous work. Medal beauitfully toned with ribbon.
