Enlisted 5 February, 1900 in the Sick Berth at Chatham. He was a Probationary Sick Berth Attendant 5 Feb, 1900; Sick Berth Attendant 22 May 1900; 2nd Sick Berth Steward 19 Feb 1904; Sick Berth Steward 27-April, 1909; Chief Sick Berth Steward 21 April 1918. Discharged 14 Feb 1922. With papers.
