The Reminiscences of Captain Oliver Jones during his involvement as an observer of the Indian Mutiny. He had joined the Royal Navy in 1826 as a 13 year old boy was later promoted to Lieutenant. In 1856 he took a year’s leave from his work to observe the fiercest fighting of the Indian Mutiny. It was not uncommon for a civilian to follow along and observe these types of events. In fact, Captain Arthur Wilson of the R.N. won the V.C. at El Teb while there as an onlooker. Hardcover, 213 pages.
